We are two crazy coders from the Mozilla Community. Anjaly Elizabeth is a good front end developer and a passionate designer and myself Nidhiya, a pretty good backend developer who loves to experiment with front end technologies. To an added merit, although we are students we have been working on various commercial projects. Being open source enthusiasts, we actively volunteer for Mozilla. And both of us have been organizing lots of events to encourage women in technology. Since we don't have a Rails girls community here in our region ie. Cochin , we're planning to form one soon.

Last RGSoC Friday!! Had a call with Bartek & Laura. Fixed a few bugs in the metakey issue.
Right now trying to position each square into a cube to form the axes. Bartek said we could issue a pull request by the end of the month! We finally get to merge our commits to the project repo! Excited!!
We started working on our team blog due on October 10th.

Just one week left!!! Gonna miss this!
We resolved the meta key issue. Was simple really. Just had to add in a few if statements. Also, in the last commit, while cleaning up the code we forgot to include the first task we did, i.e., we accidently removed the numbers! So we redid it again..
Working on the axis implementation right now.
Oh yeah! And filled out the feedback form!

Working on data- attributes to set position and rotations in 3D.
Referred to the link to see how cube can be implemented http://stackoverflow.com/questions/15746770/impress-js-cube-change-the-direction-of-transition
Not yet completed the task as of now
Cross verifying the features of current impress.js and few open issues and suggestions

-Working on square steps with borders to build axes . Checking out the online portals and samples. Thanks to Bartek for the JSFiddle . We are seeing it for the first time. : - http://jsfiddle.net/bartaz/x7ke29q7/ . It was really helpful
-Creating the list of additional features in parallel
-Got the review for the latest code
-Also working on the metakey issue. As a first step we are trying to implement shift+arrow instead of just arrows. Tried different implementations but did not get it right.

When user clicks Shift+arrow or Alt+space, etc impress.js moves to next slide. We need to modify that . For that we are Looking over https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/KeyboardEvent as suggested by mentor.

Made corrections in the style buttons as Bartek told us to. Then we worked on the axes issue. We also had a look at the next issue Bartek told us to work on.
Couldn't do much today as there was power cut till evening due to some Metro construction. :/

The beginning of the final month! Had a call with bartek. He gave us an idea on how to deal with the z-axis. Basically, we just need to visualize the 3 axes as the 3 edges of a cube and draw them accordingly. Apart from that we did a little bit of code cleaning.

Today we made a new presentation to display the coordinate axes. We drew the x & y axes as each step in the presentation. We were doubtful how to place the z- axis. In the end we google how the coordinate system would look like and then placed the axis accordingly. We also inserted a test slide to see if the slide is placed in the right point. But there seems to be some problem and need to fix the z-axis

Started with the new task. We need to create a coordinate axes to use as reference in the presentation. We started off by creating a new presentation with each axes as each step like bartek told us. Also Bartek pointed out some corrections in our previous task and we started doing that. Need to finish the corrections tomorrow.

Trying an alternative way to deal with the issue. http://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/jejb/impress.js.git/commit/?id=46f041b7340cba58356e7782bf3d7377ae278530 (the link) , Hope this solves the problem.

Both of us tried to approach the problem individually to see if we can find some creative ideas. And interestingly we could do it but working in team is more effective. . Trying on Issue 425 , Currently, impress.js breaks keyboard shortcuts for the browser's Back (⌘←) and Forward (⌘→) because it swallows all keyup events without first checking event.metaKey. Finding options to filter

Another amazing day! We met with our coaches today. They helped us find a nasty error we've been having since morning. We were trying to make a demo using impress and however we tried we just couldn't get it to work. We must have gone through our code for nearly fifty times and still we couldn't figure out what was going wrong. We tried changing the css, the html, tried googling, and even changing browsers but nothing worked. By evening we were exhausted and we asked our coaches. He took one look at the code and started laughing. We didn't understand what was going on. Then he pointed out that we had used "href" instead of "src" for linking the js file!! The JS file was not being linked at all!! :P
Then there was a launch party for Women TechMakers in the building we work and we attended it. We got the chance to talk about our experience with RGSOC and talked about how we applied and then got selected. Altogether it was an amazing day and a great end to a great week!!

We planned to create some presentations using the the impress.js and started reviewing each others presentations. It helped us in understanding more code and it's usage. Then we thought of conducting a user survey and analyzing the further modifications.
