We learnt a lot in a few because of Travis, deleted a repo learnt new syntaxes in Git that we didn't know existed
- remove the commit on your local repository. You can do this using git rebase -i
- git push -f origin HEAD^:master
That should "undo" the push, depending on the number of " ^ " signs
Waiting for Travis
7 min 44 sec later ...... passed the first test YAY!!!
now running the cucumber tests
Team The Tremors — at September 22, 2015 21:41 UTC
We finally did the pull request to resolve the issue with translation
By the time of updating this Travis was still running , we are hoping that by the time we do our next update, Travis gives us an okay
Few minutes later
So back to working on the repo :-)
Team The Tremors — at September 22, 2015 21:09 UTC
So we sorted out the bugs we were having .
Everything seems to be going as planned
Check this out
Hoping to do the pull request today

-We thought of having a dropdown menu to have the option of selecting fields to be displayed either on web or on mobile. But using radio buttons is an option too :).
-Our logic is to have either radio butons or drop down menus with conditional statements so that highlighted fields are chosen to be displayed on either mobile or web platform.
-We are trying out with basic form tags and we hope this will help us resolve our issue.

-Well, we got stuck in trying to solve our final issue, (separating web fields from mobile fields). But we are not giving up. This led to more research and reading on that specific issue.
-Had our weekly chat with Cathy and she emphasized on using the Help desk, which would be another option for getting assistance with code. Thanks Cathy :)
-We had the opportunity to attend the Women In Tech Africa Launch on September 10th. This is an initiative to include Women in the technology sector in over 30 countries across Africa supporting networking, opportunity creation and entrepreneurs.
-Women in Tech Africa launched the Kenya Chapter on September 10th. We had the privilege to network and learn from people with alike minds. We are excited to be part of the group as well. Go go Women in Tech Africa :) :) :).

-We had the weekly chat with Cathy, together with Paul :) (Our Coach).
-The RGSoC has been a good experience so far. We both learned and love working as a team.
-We faced some challenges too:
* Internet connection is the main challenge but we figured out a solution for it. Using LAN cables as opposed to WiFi :)
* Also, working on other people's code is a bit challenging, since one has to understand another's code.
-Writing tests has been crazy and amazing at the same time. We consulted some local ruby developers about writing tests, but apparently none of them write tests. By the end of the summer of code, we are sure to be among the few people who would be conversant and proficient with tests. :) :) :)
-We hope to give a lightning talk to one of the local conferences (Geared towards Women in Technology) that is happening this month. Cathy is also helping us with connections for having lightning talks in the local conferences.
-We did a pull request but apparently, Travis CI threw errors as always. We are figuring out the solution for that.

-After relaxing during the day off, we got back to business the following day.
-We are still reading on form builders and how we could separate specific fields to display on web and mobile. (Looks pretty simple but we'll get there :))
-More and more cucumber tests ;) ;) ;)

-Today we met with Team Techylite :) :) :) from Nairobi, Kenya as well. We had a great time chatting and learning from each other. We should be doing this more often.
-We also had the weekly chat with Cathy, together with Team Techylite. She was so happy to see the two teams from Kenya together.
-We are planning to have a group chat next week together with our coaches and Cathy too. Looking forward for that.
-We finally cracked our cucumber test and we are ready to push and do a pull request again. Yeeeyyyyy :):):):). Hopefully it will be merged this time.

We wrote our first cucumber test through guidance https://teamtremors.wordpress.com/2015/08/21/working-with-cucumber-test/
All went well, this is so much fun, we are working on running the feature to confirm if its running as intended
Learning on how best to separate the the fields noted here (mobile and web) https://github.com/rapidftr/tracker/issues/143

Had this error while we were working with the application "No adapter is configured for NilClass or its superclasses. See the documentation for Sunspot::Adapters". We added the following to our code in sunspot which partially worked :) :
-We were working to fix this issue "Separate highlighted fields for web and mobile"
-To solve it, we needed to:
*Understand form builders.
*Add drop down menu with options , or maybe use radio buttons to select which features would be displayed on web and mobile.
*Show error messages when a condition for the select is not met.

-Had the weekly meeting with Cathy.
-Our supervisor, Cathy, is working to link us up with a conference/meet up to publicize about RapidFTR in Kenya. We found out that she is familiar with the ihub, which is tech community in Nairobi, Kenya.
-We decided to have an all team talk with Cathy, and our coaches probably next week.
-Great skype chat we had. Thank you Cathy :)
Team The Tremors — at August 20, 2015 08:04 UTC
-School is finally closed :). This means more concentration time on the Rapidftr/rapidreg
-Working on cucumber tests
-As we resolve the issues with the project, we decided to work on a blog to educate guys on RapidFTR and also encourage them to contribute towards the project.
With the skills we are gaining ,we will surely continue to contribute towards this project . If you want to join us in this journey, access our blog here https://teamtremors.wordpress.com/. We are adding more things as we continue to work on this.

Yesterday was a crazy day we were unable to met up with our supervisor after we had some internet problems :-( ,we hope to talk to her soonest
We did our first pull request - we so proud of our selves
Learnt about the Travis CI which is used for testing and deploying on github
Our pull request had an error which was displayed by the Travis CI ,its to do with one of the commands used in the installation of the project, at least it has nothing to do with the code we wrote ;-)
Appreciating all the people that take time to work on a projects like RapidFTR , they are super heros :-)

-Playing around with models
-Learning more on associations and user relationship models
-We are now more confident linking the project together the structure is clear and find where the models, views and controllers are linked is easier
We were working on looking for a better editor to use, at the moment we use sublime, it makes it easier for you to be hands on and learn alot

-Happy Birthday MERCY!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Great day indeed, as we are having a hackathon in our school right now.
-We have managed to solve one issue out of three, that we intended to do in the RGSoC. We actually met a friend in this hackathon, who is versatile and advanced with ROR. He was kind enough to help us out and we learned a lot from him.
-Thank you Paul for helping us out, especially with git and github.
- This calls for a celebration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-The application is up and running in both of our local machines in different environments,(Windows[Using Vagrant] and Linux).
-Great work today. :) :) :) :)

Hello everyone.... The Rails Girls Summer of code kicked off well yesterday with interactions from Anne Mwangi our Mentor and our coaches.
We will be working on the RapidFTR project which is an android and web based application that assists in gathering and sharing of information about children in emergency situations so that they can be reunited with their families.
