    Stand up meeting with our coach Tzvety
    Slack talks with our other coaches - Andrew and Marta
    Setting our development environment - installing Ruby, gems, Rails, etc on Ubuntu
    Fighting with the issues when preparing the environment
    Short lunch with the guys from theOryx at the office
    Working on the points given by our mentor Andrew H - Forking and cloning the repository into our local environment, Create a database for local environment by running the migrations, run the app in our browsers
    A fast photo session with our coach Tzvety for the RGSoC
    Reading about configuring Rails Apps
    Reading about Unit testing and Guard Usage doc

  • Kicking Off!! Day 1!

    Finally!!!! This is what we did today!
    -the onboarding call!!!
    - set up a trello board
    - drafted the introductory blog
    - Set up a group twitter handle
    .....aaaand most importantly, all set for a wonderful summer (or rain in our case! :P)!!

    So here's what we did on our first day:
    - Said good morning to everyone!
    - Configured Ruby, Lotus and Git
    - Petted the guinea pig
    - Did Ruby tutorials from codeacademy
    - Fought against Team Melbourne for the last piece of cake from GirlsCodersWars evil laughter
    - Ate sushi and ice cream
    - Continued doing tutorials
    - Tweeted stuff

    Between all that replied to messages from mentors, coaches, teams, etc ;)

  • First day

    • Got a tour of the GitHub office from one of our coaches: Rachel Myers
    • Got introduced to a bunch of people at the office
    • Did a selfie from the rooftop and tweeted it
    • Lunch with a GItHub employee
    • Stay tuned for after lunch entries...
    • Had a slack discussion with both CocoaPod and Github coaches and mentors re: podAcknowledgements
    • Screen Heroed- one of our mentors and successfully installed pod Acknowledgements *Took a roof top break and admired the city views and the sunshine

    *Read Bundler docs and learned a bit about :Path

  • The summer is on!

    [m]The first day of a long and cheesy summmer! We celebrated per Skype, Roos got to know her amazing new office @ The Artificial (thanks to Hans and Shannon!), got our first mentoring session with the amazing Carpmeister himself, got seriously distracted by all the happy RG teams all over the world. Encountered our (uhhh.... mine....) first git mess. And.... we got the app almost running locally and installed all the dependencies. And we started a twitter hashtag campaign #thingsrailsgirlssay. Let's see it that campaign will live through the first week.
