Team Alpha Ruby (α ❤ ✌) — at July 3, 2015 21:58 UTC
Today it was a challenging day with a lot travelling. Team Alpha Ruby made it to Berlin, on this very hot day.
We have been able to participate and represent our team at the Rails Girls Summer of Code Kickoff Party.
It was very nice to get to know other participants, the organizers and everyone involved.
Furthermore we enjoyed studying HTML and CSS today and next steps will be to continue our study.

Today we finished a rails tutorial, and "hung out" with our supervisor and the guinea pig. We also had a long skype call with one of our coaches who explained to us the folder structure of a rails project and other specific questions we had about ruby and rails.
Also, ice cream to celebrate!

Another day of getting settled! We tried to get our overwhelmed heads around the Git-situation and installing the app properly on both our machines. Met our wonderful coach Lieke by Google hangout. Figured out some personal confusions around Git and the App and finished the day off by going to the App, the Gituation and the problems together. Finished off with a rant about all our impressions on this week on a sunny terrace in the centre of Amsterdam. Ready for week 2!
Team GirlsCodersWarsaw — at July 3, 2015 14:56 UTC
First three days behind us. First of all, a lot of organization and planning work, but also a lot of hangouts calls.
Today we had a KickOff call with the whole big team - the two of us, coaches in our office, also two remotely coaches, mentor and a supervisor. Big GirlsCodersWarsaw Family! ;)
In the evening there will be also our little Warsaw KickOff Party and we suppose to do a Friday hug hangout with RGSoC community from Berlin, yay! :D
Today we went through how to master a github - as a review - for example: configuring git, forking and cloning, submitting a pull request, collaboration using pull request, a bit of working on many branches, what gitignore does and also what environment variables are.
Also repos for our traning apps are ready for their first commits in RGSoC 2015: https://github.com/GirlsCodersWarsaw
Check it out! :)

This was our hottest day so far 34°C in Berlin.
We however managed to work on many things:
* we invited Christophe a diaspora contributor who helped us get running our development environment and talked about diaspora history and community culture (we also talked about virtual machines)

The last day of the week and the third day of RGSoC was very emotional...
Well ... we forgot to pick up our coach Andrew R. from the metro station :) ... we laugh, joked and after drinking our coffee, while discussing the daily topics we had a conversation with our supervisor Lieke :)
The day continue with some installations, corrections and little troubles with Wi-Fi connection. Despite of everything we continue reading and practicing tutorials.
Andrew and Tsvety explained us a lot of things.
One more hour until the end of the day, few more minutes reading and coding...
Have a nice weekend, see you on Monday :) :) :)
Team Tessie — at July 3, 2015 07:34 UTC
Reading the docs. Loooots of docs!
We both managed to get to "to-do list zero".. at least in our daily lists... and at least for a little while!
We had our morning standup call with the folks from Hoodie
We have begun working through the Hoodie tutorials
We laid out a plan for what we will complete on day 3
We rounded up all of our coaches and had a team photoshoot at a meetup in the evening (swishes hair)
Team Melbourne — at July 3, 2015 06:41 UTC
· Kick-Off Hangout Call with Sara and our 2 female coaches!
· More, more, more administrative work
· Git Masters in Training - learned that we couldn't compare repos (although this could be done in 2010), how to remotely push pull between directories, users and what could and couldn't be done.
A large part of the day was spent on Points 4 and 5.
Despite it being a Friday, we stayed in the office for pretty much the whole duration. We promise to make future Fridays more exciting than this!
** Happy Weekend, RGSoC Teams and Everyone! **

- Our first task is to add the list of languages to the main site and link each to its own page
- We ran into issues because the help site is separate from the main site, so programmatically linking the information on both is hard
- Watched tutorial videos on APIs - using and building
- Decided to skip links for now
- Looking for debugging solutions
- 4:57pm: First high five of the summer!
- 5:19pm: Second high five!
- Checked in with our mentor and got all of our questions answered!

We started our day by having a daily standup, we talked about what we did yesterday and what we will be doing today.
Then, we continued working on a article list view for our blog, and we had a problem with the computer we were for pairing, we had it replaced and installed and configure our computer again :(.
Today was the birthday of a partner at Crowd Interactive and we ate cheesecake =). It is a great tradition in the company.
We continued our day installing the livingstyleguide gem, and did some examples before we generate a style guide for our own team blog.

Set up our Twitter account which can be found here - https://twitter.com/teamCodebenders. Follow us! :)
We are done with setting things up!
Cloned the code for the Demo App of Rails Admin (http://rails-admin-tb.herokuapp.com/). Studied the code and wrote to our mentor to decide what all we plan to improve.
The codebase for the gem is more overwhelming. Tried to analyse it better using https://github.com/gilesbowkett/rewind.
Productive day, many more to come.. :)
